Blue Earth – Janis Rosella Northwick, age 87, of Blue Earth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at United Hospital District in Blue Earth.

A public visitation will be held at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth from 12-2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021. A private family memorial service will follow, at 2 p.m. Guests are invited to watch the service live at www.pattonfh.com/ obituary/janis-northwick.

Janis was born on April 17, 1933 in Kiester, to Swan and Julia (Johnson) Peterson. Janis moved to Blue Earth in 1938 when her father got a job as a deputy. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1951. On June 2, 1951, Janis married Eugene Northwick. She was a homemaker and worked as an office manager and receptionist for Blue Earth Dental Association, KBEW, and Shopper Enterprises.

Janis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served the church in many capacities. She was a member of the Ladies Bowling League and served as President for a time. Janis was also a long-time member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. She also served as a board member of the Blue Earth Senior Center.

Jan was a feisty woman, and she loved people. She enjoyed reading, Sunday dinners with her family, dancing with Eugene, working at the church, and was an avid sports fan. She will be missed.

Jan is survived by two sons and three daughters, Dennis (Carol) Northwick, of Blue Earth, Mark (Cindy) Northwick, of St. Paul, Julie (Bruce) Krosch, of Blue Earth, Paula McCool, of Blue Earth, and Mona Anseeuw, of Blue Earth; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sisters, Janit (John) Sapa, and Audrey Dawson; brothers-in-law, Ted (Joyce) Northwick, Jerry Teig; and many nieces and nephews cherished by their Auntie Pete.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 1995; her parents; three sisters; four brothers, four sisters-in-law, and five brothers-in-law.
