Brian Nelson, 68

Alpine, Wyoming/Blue Earth – Brian Nelson, age 68, of Alpine, Wyoming, formally of Blue Earth passed away at his home Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021. Brian was born Aug. 9, 1952 to Marvin and Donna (Lowery) Nelson in Blue Earth. He attended Blue Earth High School, graduating in 1970, then onto Austin Junior College where he studied art from 1970-1972 and Mankato State in 1972-1974 where he got his pilots license.

In 1979 he headed west to California, but stopped in Jackson, Wyoming to see a friend and stayed in the area until his death. He loved the western Wyoming area, where he loved to hunt, fish, raft, snowmobile, ride his horses, ride motorcycle or any outdoor activity in the beautiful Jackson Hole area. He had many interesting jobs including, bouncer\night manager at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, drove the stage coach around the town square, snowmobile tours, retail store and then retired from the Jackson Hole airport where he was a firefighter/maintenance person. He was even an extra in a Clint Eastwood movie ‘Any Which Way You Can,’ filmed in Jackson, Wyoming. After retiring he moved 35 miles south to Alpine where he continued to work for the State of Wyoming and a river rafting company.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Mark (Teri) Nelson, of Blue Earth; sister, Teri Nelson, of Trempeauleau, Wisconsin; as well as the many friends he met over the years. A celebration of life will be held at later date.
