Eugene W. Albrecht, 70
Albert Lea/Winnebago – It is with great sadness to announce that Eugene Walter Albrecht passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at home, surrounded by family. Eugene was born April 2, 1950 in Albert Lea, the son of Walter and Emma (Syring) Albrecht. He graduated from Minnesota Lake Public School. He went on to marry the love of his life, Lynn (Danks) Albrecht June 13, 1970 at Peace United Church. The couple lived in Winnebago, where they raised six children. He worked at Railway Motors in Fairmont, for 30 years until the company closed. He then went on to work at Mico in North Mankato, until he retired.
Eugene was a hard working man of many talents. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, and computers. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and was adored by his grandchildren.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Lynn Albrecht, of Winnebago, six children: Debra Steinhagen (David DeYonge), of Mankato; Lori Albrecht (Terry Moore), of Red Wing; Kevin Albrecht, of Minnesota Lake; Amy Albrecht (Frank Lopez), of Garfield; Sara Albrecht, of Minnesota Lake; Miranda (Joe) Washington, of Waite Park; sister, Ruth Albrecht, of Winnebago; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews and their families. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter.
Visitation will be held at Peace United Church,16 Park St. South, Minnesota Lake, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday April 7, 2021 from 2-3 p.m. with a Memorial Service starting at 3 p.m. Following the service all family and friends are invited to dinner and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you send donations to the Faribault County Humane Society.
