Doug ‘Oscar’ Meyer, 62

Winnebago – Doug “Oscar” Meyer, age 62, of Winnebago, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago with Pastor Robert Bailey officiating. A time for visitation will be held at Spencer Owen Funeral Home on Sunday, June 13 from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Winnebago.

Doug was born on Oct. 17, 1958, in Fairmont to Sylvan and Marian (Jahnke) Meyer. He attended Winnebago High School and graduated in 1977. He became a long-time truck driver and farmer in rural Winnebago. In 2001, he was blessed with his son, Stewart. He loved anything and everything involving his son – ballgames, four wheeling, fishing, trucking, and working side by side with him on their family farm.

Oscar is survived by his son, Stewart of Winnebago; his mother, Marian of Winnebago; sisters, Tamara (Terry) Widmann of Brooklyn Park and Karen (Mike) Lloyd of Winnebago.

He is preceded in death by his father, Sylvan Meyer; paternal grandparents, Lorenz and Wilma Meyer; and maternal grandparents, Leroy and Marie Jahnke.
