Wells – Joel Eugene Thisius, age 87, of Wells, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021. A Funeral Service was held Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Open Doors Wells United Methodist Church. Interment was at St. Casimir’s Catholic Cemetery in Wells. The family prefers memorials to the Mayo Clinic Mesothelioma Specialty Group. Joel is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 66 years; sons, Terry (Lucy) Thisius of Palmer, Alaska, Steven (Cathy) Thisius of Maple Lake, and Todd (Laurie) Thisius of Cheney, Kansas; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Larry (Betty) Thisius of Wells and Ted Thisius of Freeborn; sister, Gayle Staloch of Wells; one brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
