Bricelyn – Laverne “Vern” Gjere, age 84, of Bricelyn, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 at The Woodlands on St. John’s Nursing Home Campus in Albert Lea. A Funeral Service was held Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at Good Hope Parish in Bricelyn, Pastor Don Malinsky officiated. Burial was in Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery, Seely Township, Faribault County. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol, of Bricelyn; four children, Mike (Trish) Gjere, of Blue Earth, Paul (Deb) Gjere, of Rochester, Sue Osland (Dennis Johnson), of Wall, South Dakota, and Karen (Kelly) Hinrichsen, of Runnells, Iowa; eight grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren; siblings: Geri Melaas, of Denton, Texas, Marlys Martin, of Fountain Hills, Arizona; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
