William M. Murphy, 82

Blue Earth – William M. Murphy, age 82, passed away peacefully on Oct. 15, 2021. A Mass of Christian burial was held Friday, Oct, 22, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, Fr. Bill was born June 9, 1939 in Blue Earth, to C.C. and Mary Helen (Meagher) Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Daniel (Katherine) Murphy and brother-in-law, Tom Carr. He is survived by sister, Mimi Carr; children, John (Kristine), Mary Sue (Jeff) Rhoda, Molly (Rob) Kukuljan, David (Becki) and Darren; grandchildren MaKenzie and Jake Murphy, Conor (Brooke), Catherine and Anne Marie Rhoda, Danielle and Alexa Kukuljan, Natalie, Anna and Joe Murphy; and great granddaughter Charlotte Rhoda. He is also survived by seven grand-dogs.

Upon graduation from Blue Earth High School in 1957 Bill attended the University of Notre Dame where he obtained his business finance degree in 1961. He served two years in the United States Army before returning to Minnesota. He recently retired after 58 years in business management and sales.

Bill will be remembered for his devotion to his children’s and grandchildren’s countless sports activities, dedication to the University of Notre Dame, maintaining his longstanding friendships with high school and college classmates, being a proud member of the 1956 Blue Earth state tournament basketball team and his love for dogs.
