Monte Peterson, 81

Carthage, Missouri – Monte Peterson, 81, of Carthage, Missouri died peacefully on Oct. 24, 2021 after being diagnosed Oct. 2, 2021 with a mass in his brain that could not be treated.
Monte was born Feb. 14, 1940 to Monard and Vada Peterson on their family farm near Blue Earth. He graduated from Blue Earth High School and Mankato State, winning wrestling championships at both schools.
In 1962 he married Sharon Emery and they were blessed with two daughters, Paige Ann and Peggy Lynn.
Monte drove trucks, taught school, coached, taught drivers and worked in trucking offices. His favorite job was driving a belly dump to spread gravel for I-90. He took pleasure in driving, visiting all 50 states and Presidential Libraries.
In 2002 he and Sharon moved to Missouri from Cedar Rapids Iowa. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, a sister, Jan Booth (Bill), brothers-in-law, David Emery and Randy Emery, along with cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Blue Earth at a future date.
