John Haase, 53

Nov 26, 2021

Belle Plaine – John Haase, age 53, of Belle Plaine, died after an extended battle with Covid on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, with his wife and sister at his side at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester. John was born on March 12, 1968 in Blue Earth, to John D. and Kathryn A. (Gerberding) Haase, Sr. He was a 1986 graduate of Blue Earth High School and attended Mankato State University. John met and married the love of his life, Laura J. Pomerleau, on Aug. 21, 1999 in Shakopee. He worked in auto sales for over 25 years with various dealerships and for the last 10 years with Jeff Belzer in New Prague. He was the consummate “car salesman,” conducting his business with integrity, honesty, and an easygoing nature that made him loved and respected by all who dealt with him. John was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing and hunting. With his acreage in the country, he tried his hand at growing many things, most notably, garlic! He was known for his jokes and pranks and loved nothing more than teasing those he loved most! His girls took center stage in his life and he loved nothing more than the time spent with them. His ready smile, easygoing nature, and love for life will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Laura and daughters, Sydney and Paige, of Belle Plaine; mother, Kate Haase, of Mesa, Arizona; father, Hannibal (Robbie) Haase, of Webster; sister, Kara (Kelly) Drake, of Blue Earth; brother, Sam Haase, of Minneapolis; grandmother, Lucille Gerberding, of Blue Earth.
