Alice Lorraine Chaffee, 95

Winnebago – A. Lorraine Chaffee, age 95, passed away on Thursday, Dec.16, 2021 at Parker Oaks Senior Living in Winnebago surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Lura Cemetery.

Alice Lorraine was born on July 25, 1926 to Robert Oliver and Alice (Seip) Elmore on their farm in Verona Township. She attended country school through the eighth grade and then continued her education on the farm, helping her family wherever she was needed.

Lorraine married Roger Chaffee in Blue Earth on April 7, 1956. The couple was blessed with five children. Lorraine raised her family and kept the home. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Winnebago, as well as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her bowling league and playing bingo at Schooters. Most of all, Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ricke Chaffee, of Yelm, Washington, Kathryn (Steve) Curryer, of Spokane, Washington, Joleen (Todd) Johnson, of Easton, Bradley Chaffee, of Winnebago, and Kevin (Marjorie) Chaffee, of Delavan; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Beverly Alfson, Joyce Farrow, Janice DeBoer and Luverne Elmore.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents; her brothers, Donald, Mervin and Maurice; and her sisters, Charlotte Robb and Elaine Elmore.
