Immanuel I. Weise, 50

Jan 28, 2022

Buffalo – Immanuel Isaiah Weise, age 50, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 24, 2021 while on a Christmas cruise in the Caribbean with his wife, Teresa, daughter, Adriana, and brother-in-law, Paul.

Immanuel was born on July 14, 1971, in Blue Earth, to LaFaye and Dwight Weise. He attended school in Delavan, until his junior year when he transferred to Blue Earth where he met his future wife. After high school, Immanuel attended South Dakota State University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1994. While in college, he and Teresa eloped on May 1, 1992. Later that same summer, on Aug. 15, they were married again at the Salem United Methodist Church surrounded by family and friends. After college, Immanuel and Teresa moved to Summit, South Dakota where he began his engineering career. In 1998, while expecting their daughter, Adriana, they moved back to Minnesota and settled in the Buffalo area. Immanuel spent the rest of his career working for Railway Equipment Company in Delano.

Throughout these years, Immanuel enjoyed growing into his role as a husband and father; spending time with his family, attending Adriana’s activities, listening to 80’s rock, working with electronics and computers, taking naps with his grandcat Dancer, scratching an occasional lottery ticket and watching sports with his wife and daughter (more accurately, finding ways to make fun of professional sports with the assistance of his daughter). Immanuel had a strong work ethic, but never turned down an opportunity to spend time with those he loved the most. He enjoyed traveling with his family and was blessed to have toured Europe, and visited Mexico, several Caribbean islands, and multiple locations in the United States (including Las Vegas on more than a few occasions).

Immanuel’s smile and laugh were nothing short of contagious. He always found a way to care for those around him and put their needs in front of his own. Immanuel was a very selfless individual who went out of his way to make sure those he cared about the most knew how he felt.

In addition to the family with him on the cruise, Immanuel is survived by mother, LaFaye Weise; father, Dwight Weise; sisters, Dora (Jack) Volz, Karna (Eric) Fredinberg, Sandy (Bob) Ruby, Sara Klinkenborg, and Maria (Jeff) Oelke; and brother Jacob (Jessica) Weise; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles. Immanuel was preceded in death by his sister, Anna; and his grandparents, Karl and Edna Weise, and Theodore and Elaine Wiederholt.

Funeral Services and visitation were held Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 at The Peterson Chapel, in Buffalo, Pastor Reid Gilbert officiated. A private family interment was held in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Delavan.
