Melissa Scheid, 57

Fairmont – Melissa “Missy” Scheid, age 57, of Fairmont, died Friday, March 25, 2022 at REM Heartland in Fairmont. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells. Burial was in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Easton, Fr. Missy was born March 17, 1965 at the Wells Municipal Hospital in Wells, the daughter of Greg and Judy (Brucker) Scheid. She was baptized at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Missy worked for MRCI and STEP, and lived at REM in Fairmont. REM was a large part of her life. She received love and attention from all of the REM staff and services. Melissa enjoyed life, whether it was going to work, shopping, getting her hair and nails done, or going out to eat.

She is survived by her father, Greg Scheid of Blue Earth; siblings, Sara (Gary) Gack II of Easton, Scott (Renee) Scheid of Winnebago, and April Scheid of Blue Earth; two nephews, Gary Gack III and Trent Scheid; niece, Jennifer Scheid; two aunts, Margaret (Dale) Sonnek of Winter Park, Colorado and Peggy Brucker of Mankato; cousins, Chris (Laura) Sonnek, Devin Sonnek, Colin Sonnek, Jeffery Brucker, Jessica Brucker, Kenzie Brucker, Kaitlyn Brucker, and Lea Brucker.

Melissa is preceded in death by her mom, Judy Scheid; grandparents, Floyd and Lenore Scheid; Lowell “Jiggs” and Betty Brucker; step-mother, Ilene Scheid; uncle, Robert Brucker; and cousin, Todd Brucker.
