Sharon Perrine, 84

Sep 16, 2022

Blue Earth – Sharon Perrine, beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, friend, and confidante went into her Savior’s arms on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022 with her family surrounding her. As she left, her family knew she was free and in the presence of her Lord and finally holding grandbabies that have gone before.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 at Dell Lutheran Church in Frost.

Sharon was born on May 1, 1938, the first-born of Ernest and Esther (Sabin) Schonborn. Along with her brother Mike, she grew up a country girl near Dell. She was a creative gal and wanted to be a clothing designer. She graduated from Frost High School and shortly after, married her first love, Glen Perrine, a town boy. Sharon and Glen raised five children on their farm near Blue Earth. There was never a lack of something to do. Sharon made life fun and creative. She usually had a twinkle in her eye and a laugh that was contagious. After her last child was born, she decided to go back to college and finish her degree. She brought toddler Nathan, along with his own briefcase to her classes. She graduated from Mankato State University with a Home Economics degree and a minor in art. Sharon taught for a few years but found her true ministry and calling as an entrepreneur. The joy of her life was raising her children and playing with grandchildren.

Sharon enjoyed quilting and partaking in creative projects in her spare time. She was a faithful mother and grandmother, and she passed her love for the Lord onto her children. Mom’s philosophy was that adventure was always waiting to happen if your imagination would allow. Mom was a superior cook, using “dump and put” recipes.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, Glen, of Blue Earth; children, Julianne (David) Meyer, of Arlington, Iowa, Danial Perrine, of Frost, Debra (John) Oothoudt, of Blue Earth, Gina (David) Frandle, of Blue Earth, and Nathan (Kari) Perrine, of Bricelyn; grandchildren, Alex (Lisa) Meyer, of Fayette, Iowa, Keagan (Stephanie) Meyer, of Bloomington, Evan Meyer, of Festina, Iowa, Hannah Meyer, of Decorah, Iowa, Josiah Oothoudt, of Blue Earth, Elizabeth Oothoudt, of Mankato, Eythan (Courtney) Frandle, of Blue Earth, Ashlen Frandle, of Blue Earth, Morgan (Jayden) Huset, of Albert Lea, Jasmine Perrine, of Blue Earth, Job Perrine, of Bricelyn, and Jonah Perrine, of Bricelyn; great-grandchildren, Indiana, Lincoln, and Coraline Meyer, Louis and Walter Meyer, and Finley, Hazel, and Reese Frandle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mike; siblings-in-law; and grandson, Jeremiah John. Other grandchildren also awaited Gram’s arrival in heaven.

Memorials are preferred to Dell Lutheran Cemetery Association and the American Heart Association.

Special loving care was given to mother by daughter, Debra, along with CNA’s from the area. In our mom’s final months, her granddaughter, Jasmine was a wonderful companion to her as well. Thank you.
