Blue Earth – Michael “Mike” F. Douglas, age 81, of Blue Earth died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at his daughters’ home with his family by his side.
Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Pastor Lee Miller. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church, join us for lunch and fellowship following the service.

Michael Fredrich Douglas was born on Sept. 5, 1941, to Keith and Evelyn (Chilson) Douglas in Minneapolis. He was united in marriage to Joan Ann LaMont on Jan. 3, 1959, in Blue Earth. Joan died in 2008. He was united in marriage to Sharon Ogilvie on July 27, 2011, in Anchorage, Alaska with Pastor Jacob.
Mike and Joann raised their family in Madison Lake, and the last 13 years he resided in Blue Earth, after reuniting with his childhood sweetheart Sharon Bussinger-Ogilvie. He will be deeply missed by so many. He was an avid outdoorsman and really loved fishing, especially for walleyes and perch. He also collected many arrowheads in the Madison Lake area.
He is survived by his wife; Sharon Ogilvie, of Blue Earth; and his four children, Jody (David) Scholtz, of Kasota, Vicky (James) Rauchman, of Mankato, Steve (Sandy) Douglas, of Madison Lake, Jeffrey (Teresa) Douglas, of Eagle Lake; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy Plante, of Granada; brother-in-law, Mike Bussinger; sister-in-law, Donna Bussinger, of Blue Earth; nieces and nephews, best friend for over 60 years, Bob Berndt, of Blue Earth.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years, Joan; his brothers, Keith Jr. and Gerald; brother-in-law, Gary; sister-in-law, Judy.
