Loren D. Olson, Sr., 72

Loren D. Olson, Sr., age 72, died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Jan. 16, 2023. He was born Sept. 25, 1950 to Dale and June Olson. Loren lived in several communities with his parents and 7 siblings prior to leaving for Vietnam in 1968. He served one tour of duty in the Marines and returned to southern Minnesota where he resided for the rest of his life.

Loren was an avid fan of classic cars and enjoyed traveling around the region to area casinos for fun. He loved spending time with his grandchildren as well as gathering with family for celebrations.

Loren worked for Lakes Gas in Blue Earth for 21 years and with J.R. Bruender Construction of Eagle Lake for 23 years before retiring in 2021.

Loren is survived by his 3 children: JoWayne Olson, of Mankato, MN, Amy Olson-Treptow (Chad), of Rochester, MN and Loren Olson, Jr. (Angela), of Florence, SC.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lonnie; sister, Rhonda; and grandson, Nathaniel.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time to honor his memory.
