Maxine Arline Lawrence, 100

Blue Earth – Maxine Lawrence passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, three days after her 100th birthday with her loving family surrounding her. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, March 13, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Michael Klatt officiating. Visitation is Sunday March 12, from 2-4 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home and one hour before the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Maxine Arline was born March 3, 1923 to Theodore and Freda (Boettcher) Ziegler in Elmore Township. She attended St. John’s Parochial School for eight years and then graduated from Elmore High School in 1942. Shortly after graduating, she went on a date with the man she would spend the rest of her life with. Ronald Lawrence would court her for the next four years before getting married June 2, 1946 at St. John’s Church. Together they raised two children on their farm outside of Blue Earth. Maxine was a very hands-on mother and farm wife, helping haul corn, cut stalks and anything else that needed to be done. She also worked several years at JCPenney and Wolf Haibine in Blue Earth.

She was very active in the church with the ladies aide and teaching Sunday school. Her and Ron loved to go dancing, golfing and took many trips to Texas, they also traveled to Florida, Hawaii and Alaska. She and Ron shared their faith by reading devotions together every night up until just a couple weeks ago. They had a very special connection, they lived long enough to have a lot of fun together. She also enjoyed needlepoint, hardanger, and swimming but her great love was her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking for them and spending as much time as she could with them.

Left to cherish so many years of wonderful memories are her husband, Ron, of Blue Earth; son, Steve (Gerdane) Lawrence, of Blue Earth; daughter, Mary (Harold) Hill, of Mountain City, Texas; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren as well as many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marian Eichhorn; granddaughter, Sara Redepening; and daughter-in-law, Berneda Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
