Margaret Edythe Curran

Janesville, Wisconsin (formerly of Blue Earth) – Margaret Edythe Curran, age 93, passed away May 6, 2023, in Janesville, Wisconsin. She was born Jan. 2, 1930.

Margaret was a former native of Blue Earth, daughter of Rev. Thomas Lindsay and Lorna Delphine Lindsay. She was a member of the River of Life Worship Center, Blue Earth.

Margaret was predeceased by husband Harry Curran, and two sons, Verlon Curran and Harry J. Curran.

Surviving are three daughters, LaVonne Handschuh (husband Larry), Lynette Lane and Shelley Duncan; sons, Darnell Curran (wife Tina), Dana Curran (wife Joy), and daughter-in-law Pam Curran. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews; and two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Lindsay and Mary Lindsay. 

Margaret was a dedicated pastor’s wife and accomplished pianist. Her love for God and her family was readily and easily seen by all who knew her.  She also worked for many years as the Activities Director at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center-Blue Earth, bringing joy and encouragement to those in her care. 

She and her husband were married Dec. 18, 1949, at West Minster Presbyterian Church in Lime Springs, Iowa, resulting in nearly 62 years of marriage. They both attended Moody Bible Institute and Kings College.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 11, 2023, at River of Life Worship Center, conducted by Rev. Darnell Curran. Burial will followed in Clinton Falls.
