Richard M. Dunn

Great Falls, Montana (formerly of Blue Earth) – Richard M. Dunn, formerly of Blue Earth, was born on July 24, 1952, in Denver, Colorado, to James and Charlotte (Ankeny) Dunn. He passed away peacefully on Friday May 5, 2023, in Great Falls, Montana, at the age of 70. Services will be held Saturday May 20, 2023, at St. Annes Catholic Church in Great Falls with burial at Mount Olivet immediately following.

Richard was raised in Blue Earth and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1971. Upon graduation, Richard joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Williams Air Force Base in Mesa, Arizona. After being honorably discharged from the military in 1976, Richard attended Mankato Area vocational school studying accounting.

Richard worked in the accounting field in Rochester and St. Paul before moving to Branson, Missouri in 1983. In Missouri, he worked for Bass Pro Shops and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Most importantly, he watched over his parents sharing many wonderful memories with them during their retirement years in Branson. Richard moved to Great Falls, Montana, in 2007 where he worked at Malmstrom Air Force Base before retiring in 2016. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Great Falls. There he performed duties as lector and was on the adoration ministry. Richard served as grand knight and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus counsel #1493 in Great Falls.

Richard is survived by his brother Daniel and wife, Katherine Dunn, of Great Falls, sister Kathleen Polikowsky, of Rochester, sister Susan and husband Robert Elmore, of Ozark, Missouri.

Richard was blessed to have several nieces and nephews in his life, Michelle (Dunn) Herberger and Scott Schrader, Jennifer (Polikowsky) and Michael Novak, Robert and Julie Dunn, Christopher and Laura Polikowsky, Eric and Cara Dunn, Emily Elmore and Jerad Bergeron, Alex Elmore and Sára Emani. Surviving great nieces and nephews include Byron Dunn, Justin Herberger, Kelvin Herberger, Kyle Herberger, Isabel Herberger, Chase Schrader, Bailey Schrader, Derek Dunn, Avery Dunn, Connor Novak, Carter Novak, Luke Novak, Lilly Polikowsky, Eliza Polikowsky, Kaeden Dunn, Aalayah Rose Dunn, Angelito Daniel Dunn, and Saint Quincey Dunn.

Also left to cherish his memory are his close friends, Scott and Sharon Isler; and many cousins.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Charlotte Dunn; and one great nephew, Keenen Dunn.
