Gary was born Aug. 2, 1938, the son of Carl and Pauline (Strommeyer) Gack in Park Rapids. He served in the Army. Gary first married Nancy Schultz and had two children, Gary and Kenneth. Later Gary moved home to Blue Earth, where he married Deb Martin and they had two children.

Gary is survived by his children: Gary (Sara) Gack II, of Easton, Chris (Amy) Gack, of Florence, Arizona, and Amber (Brent) Carron, of Rogers; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Randy.
