Becky was born July 5, 1955 in Blue Earth to Ronald and Marian (Anderson) Hanson. She was one of eight children. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1973. On Sept. 1, 1973 she married Bob Spencer, whom she had known most of her life, attending grade school and high school together. Together they would make their home in Blue Earth and raise their only child, Jason. She had a couple different jobs out of high school and then found her nitch with crop insurance and worked for Minn-Iowa insurance company for 40 years. When she wasn’t working or caring for her family, she was caring for others. She was always willing to help others and was eager to make everyone happy. She would do this by knitting or crocheting different things, baking goodies and then give them away to various people. Making others smile was what made her the happiest. She also enjoyed flowers, bringing a trailer full back from Iowa every Spring to decorate the outside of the house. Every year she and Bob would go to Clear Lake for the winter dance party, as she loved 50’s and 60’s rock & roll. Her granddaughter Shea brought her the most joy, spending as much time with her as she could, they would get their nails done and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Left to cherish such wonderful memories are her husband, Bob; son, Jason (Andrea), of Blue Earth; granddaughter, Shea; sister, Barb Tischer, of Blue Earth; brother, Dennis (Tracy) Hanson, of Elmore; her very dear friend, Brenda Ripley; as well as many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Judy Bussinger, Nancy Sahr and Joann Boettcher; brothers, Bill and Chuck Hanson and three infant grandchildren, Lorraine, Millie and Asa.
