Darlene G. Holdgrafer, 66

Jan 5, 2024

Blue Earth – Darlene Gail Holdgrafer, age 66, of Blue Earth, passed away and went on to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato. A Memorial Worship service will be held at Foundations Bible Church on Jan. 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daren Barnett officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior at 10 a.m.

Darlene was born on Aug. 23, 1957, in Austin, to Gilman and Martha (Simon) Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed in Silver Lake Lutheran Church in rural Northwood, Iowa. Darlene worked for many years as a CNA at Elms Home in Albert Lea.

She was a member of Foundations Bible Church and served the Lord faithfully on the Spiritual Ministry Team. Darlene was a born-again believer, a woman of prayer and great love for Jesus, sharing the Gospel and Bible Study. She had several pets over the years and loved her cats and dogs very much. She even cared for the occasional raccoon and possum at her home near Guckeen.

She loved studying Bible prophecy, hosting Biblical dinners where the Last Supper was reenacted and taught. She enjoyed having deep discussions on faith and the future, looking forward to the rapture of the church, and Jesus’ return. She changed our lives for the better and exemplified Christ in all she did.

Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Gordy Peterson, of Lake Mills, Iowa; her niece, Kerrie Taul of Montour, Iowa; many nieces and nephews, the many folks she took care of over the years at work, her co-workers, her church family; and many other friends that are like family – whose lives she touched with her forthrightness and gracious kindness.

Darlene was preceded in death by both her parents; three brothers: Ervin, Robert and Merlyn Peterson; a sister, Helen McNary; and a nephew, Brandon Peterson.
