Evelyn H. Willmert, 104
Belview – Evelyn Helen Willmert, 104, daughter of Herman and Anna C. (Hay) Jeseritz, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Parkview Nursing Home in Belview. There was a Memorial Service held at Parkview Nursing Home on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. The burial service will be held in the future when family and friends can attend in Frost.
She was born July 9, 1919, in Wood Lake Township. On Aug. 20, 1949, she married Melford J. Willmert in Wood Lake. The couple lived in California until 1956, when they moved back to Wood Lake to go into the grocery business for about three years. In 1960 they settled in Albert Lea where Evelyn was employed by the Albert Lea School system as a librarian. In 1973 they retired to Frost. After Mel’s death in 2012, she moved into independent care in Blue Earth and later moved into Parkview Nursing Home in Belview in Jan. 2022.
Her hobbies included counted cross stitch, rosemaling, reading travel magazines and newspaper articles. She traveled on many trips with Mel to Europe, Alaska, and several other U.S. states.
Evelyn is survived by nieces, Lana (Alke) Neuman, Deborah (Jeseritz) Van Kempen, and Kay (Willmert) Lloyd, Bonnie (Willmert) Gartzke, and Lois Willmert, along with many great nieces and great nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Anna; brothers, William and Albert Jeseritz; and sisters, Alma (Jeseritz) Alke and Elsie (Jeseritz) Lipscomb.
