Fairmont – Gloria Weber, age 71, of Fairmont, and formerly Blue Earth, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A celebration of her life will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. Online condolences can be left at www.pattonfh.com

Born in Wells, on Oct. 12, 1952 to Raymond and Wanda (Savick) Hanson, Gloria grew up in Frost and graduated from Frost High School in 1970. She embarked on a diverse career path, eventually returning to college at the age of 35 to earn her Bachelor’s Degree, reflecting her determination and thirst for knowledge. Gloria was passionate about her job as a Medical Scientist at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont. She enjoyed the friendships with many of her coworkers and truly loved her job and the challenges of it.

Described as intelligent, independent, and possessing a great sense of humor, Gloria was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. Her love for gardening, yard work, science fiction, and true crime showed her diverse interests and passions. Animals held a special place in Gloria’s heart, particularly dogs and livestock, bringing her immense joy and companionship. With a beautiful singing voice, Gloria shared her talent and passion for music with those around her, leaving a lasting impact on all who heard her sing.

Gloria is survived by her loving daughter, Terri Hintgen, of Swea City, Iowa; sons, Tracy (Kris) Weber, of Blue Earth and Blake (Megan) Weber, of Elmore; grandchildren: Katie Slama, Erin Hintgen, Kendra Weber, Mataya Weber, Lianna Weber and Kaitlyn French; brothers: Tom (Shelley Williams) Hanson and Mark (Sharron) Hanson; sisters: Carole (Bob) Haugen, Dawn (Doug) Willner, Kay Dee (Gaylen) Lenort, Karen Kallestad and Kelly (Sherman Morganstein) Blake; as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who she cherished deeply.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Hanson.

Gloria Jo Weber’s life will be remembered with fondness and joy by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will live on through the memories and experiences she shared with her loved ones.
