Marian E. Kark, 100

Blue Earth – Marian Elizabeth (Sattre) Kark, age 100, of Blue Earth, passed away on March 22, 2024 at St. Luke’s Care Center in Blue Earth. Memorial services in her honor will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, officiated by Rev. Dr. Jeanette Bidne. She was born in Chinook, Montana on Aug. 27, 1923 to Karl Orlano (K.O.) Sattre and Reginald Ovidia Berg Sattre. Marian lived most of her life in Evansville and Blue Earth, before moving to Florida in 1988.
She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1941 as valedictorian of her class. Marian then attended St. Olaf College and in August 1945 was married to Donald E. Kark, who had just returned from military service as a P-47 pilot with the U.S. Army 9th Airforce, WWII in Europe.
Marian lived a busy and active life caring for her family and enjoying her friends. She acted as a “caregiver” to her extended family for many years. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth as well as Peace Lutheran Church in Ft. Myers, Florida. She enjoyed the unique pleasure of keeping a daily diary for over 75 years. Marian loved traveling and together with her husband, they enjoyed countless trips throughout the US and overseas. They had the pleasure of visiting all seven continents together.
She is survived by her daughter, Karelyn Kark Lacher, of Blue Earth, and her son, David Sattre Kark, of Hastings; grandchildren: Rachel Anderson, Kara Davis, Alyssa Kark and Nathan Kark; great-grandchildren: Riley Anderson, Elijah and Isaiah Davis and Ayden Zaramella; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Marian’s family was a very important part of her life. She was a woman of uncommon kindness and grace who truly will be missed by her family and friends whose lives she touched.
