Winnebago – Ron Schenk, of Winnebago, a dedicated and hardworking individual who lived life to the fullest, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, at the age of 64, in his home surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of his life was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Rev. Mike Omtevedt officiated. Visitation was Thursday, July 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home. Burial was at Rosehill Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.spencerowen.com.

Ron was born on April 22, 1960, to Henry and Erla Mae (Becker) Schenk in Winnebago. He was one of four children. After graduating from Winnebago, he decided to stay in the area and throughout his 40-year tenure working for Bob Weerts, Ron exhibited unwavering commitment, diligence, and a strong work ethic, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Despite his stubborn nature, those close to him knew him to have a heart of gold and a witty sense of humor that never failed to bring a smile to their faces. Ron was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in camping, fishing, hunting, and cruising on his beloved Harley. Residing in Winnebago for his entire life, Ron established deep roots within the community and was known for his generosity and kindness towards others.

Left behind to cherish such wonderful memories are his children, Casey (Heather) Schenk, of Winnebago, and Laura (Shaun) Mondahl, of Waseca. Family was paramount to Ron, and he held a special place in his heart and cherished spending time with his grandchildren, Caitlyn Holm, Bailey Schenk, Carlie Mondahl, Kaylee Mondahl and Gavin Rentzel. He also leaves behind his long time significant other, Judy Kaderabek; sister, Robin; and special second family, Bob and Jennifer Weerts; as well as many other family members and friends and his faithful companion, his dog Coco.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Erla Mae and his brothers, Rick and Dan.

Ron will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his adventurous spirit and kind heart continue to inspire those who were touched by his presence.
