Betty A. Schaper, 99

Bricelyn – Betty Arline (Udstuen) Schaper of Bricelyn, age 99, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea from complications of pneumonia. Visitation was Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells and prior to the service at the church. The funeral service was Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Dell Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Joe Ocker. Burial was at North Blue Earth Lutheran Cemetery following the service. Betty was born June 16, 1925 to Molly (Olson) and Charles Udstuen in Emerald Township, outside of Dell. She was baptized in 1925 at Dell Lutheran Church by Thero Thorson and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, by Arling Thompson. She attended school in Bricelyn, Frost and Delavan and graduated in 1940. She worked in Blue Earth and Wells. Betty married Theron “Skip” Schaper on May 26, 1945 in Mankato. They moved to the farm by Brush Creek. She joined the North Blue Earth Church in 1946 then later joined Dell Lutheran Church in 2010. Betty and Theron had five children together: Loretta, Roger, Ronnie, Lois and Sandy. Betty loved to read her Bible, go to Sunday school and church, embroider, and be with her children.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Theron; son, Ronnie; daughter-in-law, Julie Schaper; son-in-law, David Adix; her parents; her siblings and their spouses; many of her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Betty is survived by her children: Loretta (Laurie) Adix, of Alden, Roger (Joyce) Schaper, of Bricelyn, Lois (Steven) Phyillaier, of East Waterford, Pennsylvania and Sandra (Scott) Breberg, of Detroit Lakes; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
