David J. Nichols, Jr., 59

Minnesota Lake – David J. Nichols, Jr., age 59, of Minnesota Lake, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024 at his home with his loving wife and sons by his side after a hard battle against aggressive stomach cancer, diagnosed on Feb. 22, 2024. Visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024 at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells and one hour prior to service. Funeral Services were held on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Church in Minnesota Lake, Pastors Shawn and Rachel Morrison officiated. Burial was in Medo Lutheran Cemetery. David J. Nichols, Jr. was born March 30, 1965, the only son of David J. Sr., and Betty (Davenport) Nichols in Warren, Michigan. David started working at the young age of eight years old for his dads CNC Shop. He also did some DJ’ing. After his dad passed away, David briefly took over Nichols Precision Tooling in Madison Heights, Michigan. He married his beloved wife Tanya Lyn Bode in Clinton Township, Michigan, on June 17, 2008, and he relocated to Minnesota. He most recently worked as a CNC machinist at Bosch in Owatonna. What Dave enjoyed most was time spent with his family, especially his grandbaby-Addy. He loved movies (anything Star Trek or Marvel). He also loved star-gazing with the love of his life, Tanya.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, David J. Nichols, Sr.; and his mother-in-law, Linda Marie (Hopp) Bode.

He is survived by his wife, Tanya Nichols of Minnesota Lake; son, David (Tiffany) Nichols and their daughter, Addy of New Ulm; step-son, Dustin Jeremiah Stern of Wells; mother, Betty Nichols of Clinton Township, Michigan; three sisters: JoAnn (Jeff) Goode of Crose Point Woods, Michigan, Judy (David) Fenech of Fort Myers, Florida, Karen Drummond of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Tammy (Rob) Nelson of Utica, Michigan; father-in-law, Gerald Bode of Eagle Lake; brother-in-law, Benjamin Bode of Eagle Lake; along with many beloved uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and their families.
