Dawn L. Schultz, 65

Aug 16, 2024

Delavan – Dawn Lynn Schultz (Lewis) AKA “MOOT” 65, of Delavan, MN, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Aug. 8, 2024 at United Hospital District, in Blue Earth, after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer. A memorial service was held at Faith Lutheran Church in Delavan on Aug. 18, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. Service started at 2 p.m.

Dawn was born in Winnebago to Lloyd Lewis and Darlene Lewis (Sailor) on Nov. 6, 1958. She attended Delavan High School and graduated in 1977. She later went to Rasmussen Technical College and received her Business Degree. Dawn and Randy Silverthorn united in marriage in 1982. Of this marriage, they had three children: Amber, Michael and Danielle. Later in life she was remarried and, in that union, Isaac was born.

Dawn resided in the Easton and Delavan areas during her life. Dawn worked many jobs and was a jack of all trades. She was most proud of the cafe she owned in Easton that she ran with her mother Darlene. In her years of retirement, she enjoyed being around her children, grandkids, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, her love of Christmas and all the decorations, planting flowers, doing crafts and refurbishing antiques in hopes of being on HGTV. After her last marriage, she enjoyed a hiatus in Okoboji, IA where her son Isaac taught her how to “dougie”.

Left to cherish Dawn’s loving memory are her children: Amber Silverthorn of Wells, Michael (Lea) Silverthorn of Fairmont, Danielle Lambert of Spirit Lake, IA, and Isaac Schultz of Delavan; 12 grandchildren; Kylie (Tyler), Chloe, Riley, Zoey, Hudsyn; Brandi, Alonna, Brayden, Maverick, Lincoln; Caleb and Aria; two great-grandchildren: Damitrius and Braelynn; two sisters, Deb Burger and Diana Fuller; and her brother, Butch Lewis.

Waiting at the doors of heaven are her parents, Lloyd and Darlene; her child, Victor; and many other family members.
