Blue Earth (formerly of Granada) – Funeral Service for Thomas A. Sullivan, age 92, of Blue Earth, MN, formerly of Granada, were at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at the Lakeview Funeral Home with interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Fairmont. Military Honors will be provided by the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222. Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Lakeview Funeral Home with a Rosary and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Thomas passed away on Monday morning, Sept. 2, 2024, at his home in Blue Earth. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Thomas Alfred Sullivan was born July 1, 1932, in Pleasant Prairie Township, Martin County, MN. He was the son of Ralph and Teresa (Driscoll) Sullivan. He attended Fairmont Public Schools and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1951. Tom furthered his education at Mankato Vo-Tech for auto mechanics.

On May 21, 1953, Tom enlisted in the Army. He was stationed in Germany where he served with Headquarters Company, 29th Signal Battalion. Tom achieved the rank of CPL(T) before earning his honorable discharge on May 11, 1955.

On Nov. 20, 1965, Tom was united in marriage to Judith Pavik in Fairmont. This union was blessed with five children, Ryan, Amy, Keven, Murray, and Daniel. The family resided on a farm in Pleasant Prairie Township where Tom farmed for many years. He also worked for Culligan in Fairmont for over forty years. Tom and Judy shared over thirty-seven years together before Judy passed away on Oct. 7, 2002.

Left to cherish his memory include his children, Ryan (Ashleigh) Sullivan of Florance, AZ, Amy (Andrew) Lorenzen of Blue Earth, Keven (Christina) Sullivan of Elmore, Murray Sullivan of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Daniel (Heather) Sullivan of St. Charles; grandchildren, MaKenna Box, Isabella Box, John, Anthony, Vivian, and Elise Sullivan, Eric and Samantha Lorenzen, Emma and Claire Sullivan, Lily, Dominic, Evelyn, Bridget, Charlotte, and Damian Sullivan; siblings, Mary Sullivan of La Crosse, WI, Phillip Sullivan of Ft. Collins, CO, and Paul Sullivan of McMinnville, OR; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marilee Pavik, Alvin (Ann) Pavik, Malvin (Janice) Pavik, Vince (Betty) Pavik, and John (Mary Sue) Pavik; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Along with his parents, Ralph and Teresa Sullivan, Tom was also preceded in death by his wife, Judy Sullivan; siblings, Ray (Judy) Sullivan, and Susanne Tillia; parents-in-law, Albert and Mary Pavik; brother-in-law, Junior Pavik; and sister-in-law, Terri Sullivan.
