Doug Johnson, 67
Mankato – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doug Johnson, age 67, of Mankato, on Oct. 30, 2024. Funeral service will take place at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells on Monday, Nov. 4 with visitation one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m.; a reception will be held after the service and interment at Lura Cemetery to follow. Doug was a devoted family man, skilled carpenter, and farmer, who left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him. Born on Dec. 15, 1956, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Forrest and Patricia (Nowicki) Johnson, Doug grew up on the family farm in Easton, surrounded by his loving siblings. He was a graduate of Delavan High School, where he enjoyed participating in numerous sports and spending time with friends.
Doug’s strong work ethic and dedication to his craft were evident in his career as a carpenter and farmer. He took pride in working on the family farm, where he raised his own family, including son Nick and daughter Laura, alongside LaNay (Goodrich) Johnson.
Those who knew Doug will remember his sense of humor, which could light up a room and bring joy to all those around him. Despite facing numerous medical challenges, Doug remained committed to physical fitness, inspiring those around him with his resilience and determination.
As we mourn this loss, we take comfort in the memories we shared with him and the impact he had on our lives.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patti Stolz.
He is survived by his son, Nick (Chelsie) Johnson; daughter, Laura (Brock) Teske; grandchildren, Yale, Fynn, Vivian, and Madeline; sister, Pam (Mark) Braunshausen; brothers, Mike (Marlene) Johnson and Brian Johnson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
