Ronald C. Marsh, 75

Delavan – Ronald C. Marsh, age 75, of Delavan, MN passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at the Mapleton Community Home. Ron was diagnosed with Parkinsons with Lewey Body Dementia approximately five years ago. The disease eventually took Ron’s ability to walk and his speech toward the last few months of his life; however, he accepted his disease with dignity. A visitation will be held at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will start at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Father Pratap Reddy Salibindla and Deacon Gene Paul. Ron was born Dec. 21, 1949, to Charles and Gladys (Marte) Marsh of Delavan. He grew up on the family farm and took over the farming operation when his dad became ill and passed away. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton. He graduated from Delavan High School, the class of 1967.

On June 15, 1968, he was united in marriage to Jean Stauffer, and they raised their four children on their family farm in Delavan. Ron enjoyed driving his truck that he named “Big Red” around the county, looking at crops and stopping to talk with neighbors. Everyone who passed Ron’s truck on the road would often catch him giving his signature wave to those he passed by.

The family will always remember their father’s signature smiley faces he placed on all cards/letters, as well as the various nicknames he gave to his children and grandchildren. Ron and Jean were blessed with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He enjoyed every moment with them.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his parents; sister, Alice (Meryl) Schimek.

He is survived by his children: Bob Marsh (Ren Amundson) of Delavan, Diana (Paul) Langworthy of St. Peter, Paula (Jerad) Billings of Wells and Kevin (Sarah) Marsh of Ledyard, IA; grandchildren: Heather (Jason) Kwasniewski, Mariah (Alex) Foty, Deanna and Kassie Marsh, Abigail Brauch (Joe Bennett), Jacob Billings, Brock and Brady Marsh; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Ariana, Jaxson; MiKinley, Adalyn, Waylon and Wyatt.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Mapleton Community Home for the outstanding care, attentiveness and empathy that they showed to Ronald, as well as his family.
