Jeanne M. Jergensen, 89

Winnebago – Jeanne Marie Jergensen, 89, passed away peacefully on Sept. 6, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She left this world the same way she lived in it – on her own terms and surrounded by the family she loved fiercely.

Born on Jan. 4, 1936, in Winnebago, MN, Jeanne lived a full and beautiful life rooted in love, faith, and adventure. A graduate of Blue Earth High School (1954), she met the love of her life, Harley Jergensen. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this November, a testament to their enduring love and devotion.

As a proud military spouse, Jeanne embraced a life of travel and discovery, raising a family while moving across the world. She found joy in collecting keepsakes from every corner of the globe, each one a reminder of a memory made or a new culture embraced.

Jeanne was many things: a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a woman of deep faith. She was known for her candor and her unwavering honesty – you always knew where you stood with Jeanne. She spoke her mind, stood by her convictions, and loved her family with her whole heart.

Jeanne is survived by her beloved husband, Harley; sister, Helen Lee Murphy, sister, Colleen Sebora, and brother-in-law, Terry. She also leaves behind three children and eight grandchildren; daughter, Sheila (Sean) McHugh, and sons, Curt (Svetlana) Jergensen and Darran (Kerry) Jergensen; her grandchildren: Michael, Amanda, Courtney, Haley, Tyler, Stas, Vincent, and Dani.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Irene Murphy; and her brother, John and his children, Matthew and Mark Murphy.

Jeanne often reminded us to “Remember the good times,” and she never missed a chance to brag about her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and were loved by her.

A celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held Monday, Sept. 29, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. with a reception to follow at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
