Blue Earth – Carlyle (Butch) David Aadland, age 84, of Blue Earth, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Sept. 24, 2025 at United Hospital District in Blue Earth where he was surrounded by loved ones.

Butch was born on May 21, 1941 in Hankinson, North Dakota to Cora and Selmer Aadland. After high school, Butch served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant, where he was stationed in Germany for two years. He later worked as a foreman at Fountain Industries in Albert Lea. In his spare time he delivered pizza where he met the love of his life, Patricia Callahan. They went on to be married on June 7, 1986. Together they spent married life in Arizona, California, Iowa and finally settled in Blue Earth for the last 10 years.

Butch enjoyed fishing, reading, doing puzzles on his computer and especially his treasured dog, Bear. Butch will be remembered for his quiet, gentle personality.

Butch is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pat; son, Leonard (Lisa) Aadland of Wesley, Iowa; step-daughters, Amy (Tim) Stenzel of Winnebago and Beth (Brad) Leland of Bricelyn. He had seven step-grandchildren and 16 step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister, in addition to his in-laws, Bob and Jean Callahan of Wells.

Arrangements are under the care of Patton Funeral Home of Blue Earth, Minnesota. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
