Gina LaNay Prescher was the youngest child born to parents, Roland and Geneva (Haase) Prescher, on May 1, 1958. Her older brothers, Leon and Charles, welcomed their baby sister whose family owned and lived on a farm in Prescott Township, south of Delavan, Minnesota. Gina was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Emerald Township, rural Blue Earth. Gina was among a core group of students that attended all grades, first through eleveth at Delavan Elementary and Delavan High School, graduating in 1976. Friends and school events were important to Gina and two of her favorites were being part of choir, and a member of Triple Trio where she shared her beautiful voice with music comrades. She also participated in Girls Recreation Association, Future Homemakers of America and was a delegate to state her junior year. Extra-curricular found her on the “Static” school newspaper as well as girls summer softball, a first in the area of emerging girls’ sports. Her senior year she was an actor in The Wizard of Oz school play and graduated from Delavan High School in 1976. Later she carried this act of theater into adulthood performing with the Blue Earth Town and Country Players for a few years, and participating in church choirs. Early in farm life, Gina had a love for kitties and throughout her lifetime had a favorite kitty companion.

Gina spent many years working in the field of printing (pre-press graphics) with plating and camera work at businesses such as Central Graphics, Blue Earth, Taylor Corp, Mankato, and House of Print, Madelia. She made a huge geographical shift in 1989 moving to Inverness, Florida working at the Citrus County Chronicle/Crystal River. Later she also lived and worked in Altomonte Springs, Progressive Communications at Lake Mary, and owned a home at Deltona, Florida. During her years in Florida Gina enjoyed several Night of Joy Concerts at Disney as well as many Christian bands who performed at Magic Kingdom or other venues in the Disney Park which she thoroughly enjoyed. She had a playlist filled with Christian music of her favorite artists and loved attending Christian music concerts. In 2007 she returned to Minnesota, and her last years of employment were as a teller at First Bank, Blue Earth, where she retired from in December of 2024.

Gina is survived by her brothers, Leon and Charles (Corrine) Prescher; two nephews, Shawn (Heather) Prescher and Damian (Tina) Prescher; two nieces, Devon (Casius) Winslow and Vanessa (Ryan) Bromeland; along with 11 great nieces and great-nephews. Also, Gina had special friends whom she counted as family. (You know who you are!)

Preceding her in death are her parents, Geneva and Roland Prescher; sister-in-law, Paulette Prescher; all of her aunts and uncles; and two first-cousins, Mike Haase and Paul Prescher.
