To the Editor:

My family lived in Blue Earth from about 1943 until 1945 or so (my memory is not too clear on the date we moved to Fairmont).

At any rate, my father ran a roller rink in Blue Earth during that time. It was what we called a ‘portable rink.’ Not really portable, but was really a tent rink (sides could open).  My father was also a shoemaker (I can’t remember where his shoe repair shop was).

I have strong memories of VE and VJ days because of the celebrations my father had at the rink. The name of the rink was Due Roller Rink. My father and mother were Holger and Lucille Due. We lived at 210 W. Ninth Street. The rink was about five blocks from our house.

The reason I’m writing this is to ask if anyone has any pictures of the rink, both by itself and/or people skating. I will appreciate any help you can give me.
