HARRY FOLEY SCHOLARSHIP
The Winnebago Elementary School is accepting applications for the Harry Foley Scholarship Award. Applications may be obtained at the Winnebago Elementary School or at the Blue Earth Area High School.
The Harry Foley Scholarship recipients must be pursuing college course or vocational-technical school course work as a full-time student. They must be graduates of the Winnebago High School or in the case of graduates after 1987, they must have lived within the 1980 Winnebago School District boundaries at the time of their graduation.
All applications will be reviewed on a basis of financial need, scholarship achievement and demonstrated leadership ability, in that order of priority.
A committee comprised of the Building Administrator, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and at least one faculty person will review each application on the basis of a one hundred (100) point system. A maximum of forty-five (45) points may be awarded for financial need, thirty (30) for scholarship achievement and twenty-five (25) for leadership ability. Total amount of dollar scholarship will be awarded on the basis of interest accumulated and number of applications received. All applicants and supporting documents shall be completed and submitted to the Building Administrator by May 1 of each year. Successful applications will be notified on or about the date of graduation ceremonies of each year.
