Notice is hereby given, that a proceeding has been commenced by the Joint Drainage Authority of Judicial Ditch #2 M & F Faribault & Martin Counties, Minnesota, for the repair areas of Judicial Ditch #2 M & F

That the engineers appointed herein have made and filed their report in the office of the Martin County Auditor-Treasurer and Faribault County Auditor-Treasurer.

That the following is a brief description of the lands drained by Judicial Ditch #2 M & F Faribault and Martin Counties by an open ditch and a tile system. Said system drains all or part of the following township in: Martin County East Chain Township (T101N-R29W), Sections 5, 6, 7, 8 and Pleasant Prairie Township (T102N-R29W) Sections 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33 and 34. Notice is hereby given that the project engineer in the above entitled matter has reported to the drainage authority that the contractor has completed the project according to the contract, plans and specifications prepared by the engineer and that the engineer has issued to the contactor a certificate in accordance therewith.

The Drainage Authority will meet in open session on the 28th day of August, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the County Board Room, Faribault County Courthouse, Blue Earth, MN to hear and consider the report and certificate of said engineer. Any person having an interest in land that is affected by the project may object to the acceptance of the contract as completed and may appear and be heard thereon.

BLUE EARTH AREA SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

July 9, 2012

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D #2860 was held on Monday July 9, 2012 in Blue Earth , MN.

Present were School Board members: J. Haugh, T. Cahill, M. Eckhardt, D. Fellows, V. Hanson, F. Bly, and S. Becker.

Also attending were Supt. Gough, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairperson Bly. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

On a Fellows/Cahill motion the board approved the agenda. Unanimous approval.

Public Input: None

On an Eckhardt/Cahill motion, the board unanimously approved the minutes from the June meeting.

The board unanimously approved eight money transfers in the amount of $ 2,221,259.49 Becker/Fellows motion.

Superintendents Report:

Evan reported on the summer projects that were taking place within the district. During his report he introduced Richard Schneider as the new high school principal. Also discussed was the summer conference and the PLC seminar that was held in Mankato and is continuation of last fall’s PLC work.

Committee Reports: Bly reported that negotiations are moving forward with the bus drivers and the non-certified staff.

Principal’s report: None

The Board approved an agreement for educational services with YSI on a Cahill/Eckhardt motion. Unanimous approval.

On a Hanson/Fellows motion the Board passed a resolution relating to the election of school board members and calling the school district general election. Voting in favor were: Bly, Becker, Fellows, Haugh, Cahill, Hanson, and Eckhardt.

On a Hanson/Fellows motion the board passed a resolution establishing dates for filing affidavits of candidacy. Voting in favor were: Bly, Becker, Fellows, Cahill, Haugh, Hanson, and Eckhardt.

The annual board reimbursement rates were set for the coming year on a Becker/Haugh motion. The Chair, Clerk, AND Treasurer will make $300. $50/ meeting for up to a half day, and $70 for a full day meeting.

The annual membership to the MSBA was approved on an Eckhardt/Hanson motion. Dues were $4580.

Personnel:

Approved the resignation of Carly Dedonder as a MS para on a Becker/Eckhardt motion. Unanimous approval.

On a Haugh/ Cahill motion the following contracts were unanimously approved:

Seth Anderson-1.0 FTE grade 1 teacher

Devin Bowlin- 1.0 FTE MS English

Richard Schneider- HS Principal

A contract for services with Dale Brandsoy was approved unanimously by the board. Becker/Haugh motion.

A Resolution to sell land adjoining the Winnebago bus garage to Alliant Energy was unanimously approved on a Fellows/Cahill motion. Voting in favor were: Bly, Hanson, Eckhardt, Fellows, Haugh, Becker, and Cahill.

On a Cahill/Becker motion, the board was dismissed at 6:52pm

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS:

The City of Blue Earth is seeking quotes for the removal of a residential home, basement and foundation, and attached garage located at 505 E. 21st Street in Blue Earth. The property has been the location of an extensive fire and all materials must be handled as containing asbestos. With asbestos materials a licensed abatement contractor must be on sight for the demolition. Abatement contractor license and insurance must be presented before demolition begins. Proposals will be taken until August 27, 2012, at City Hall, 125 W. Sixth St., Blue Earth, MN 56013 (507) 526-7336 The City reserves the right to decline any and all proposals.
