THIS SUMMONS IS DIRECTED TO THE ABOVE-NAMED DEFENDANTS.

Do not throw these papers away. They are official papers that affect your rights. BLUE EARTH AREA SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

November 10, 2014

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D #2860 was held on Monday, November 10 Present were School Board members: J. Haugh, M. Eckhardt, F. Bly, Terry Cahill, S. Ripley, D. Fellows and Mark Maher.

Also attending were Supt. Gough, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairperson Bly. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

On a Cahill/Ripley motion the board approved the agenda. Unanimous approval.

Public input: None

On a Cahill/Maher motion, the board unanimously approved the minutes from the October meeting.

The board unanimously approved eight money transfers in the amount of $1,321,028.16 Fellows/ Ripley motion.

District Reports: A Representative from CliftonLarsonAllen was on hand and gave the District a clean audit report.

Elizabeth Stallman and Kim Sickler were present to give the Board an overview of the reading instruction they are using in the classroom.

Chairperson’s report: Chairman Bly acknowledged Mike Ankeny for his state cross country berth, the Girls Tennis team for being named Academic All-State and the Football Team for their State berth. Mr. Bly also congratulated Board member Mary Eckhardt on being named as an All-State School Board Member.

Superintendents Report:

Mr. Evan Gough reminded Board Members to make reservations for the upcoming Conference in January. BUCS NIGHT OUT is Nov. 22.

Committee Reports: None

Principal Reports: High School Principal Richard Schneider reported that ASVAB testing will be Nov. 18. McGuire reported that a rep from the School of Excellence has started her time being in the building.

Action Items: On a Maher/Eckhardt motion the annual audit was approved from CliftonLarsonAllen.

A Resolution approving the canvassing the General Election results was approved on a Cahill/Fellows motion. Voting in favor were: Ripley, Maher, Eckhardt, Bly, Haugh, Fellows and Cahill.

A Resolution Authorizing Issuance of Certificates of Election results was approved on an Eckhardt/Maher motion. Voting in favor were: Cahill, Fellows, Haugh, Bly, Eckhardt, Maher and Ripley.

The Board graciously accepted a donation from the family of Frankie and Cindy Bly which was used to purchase new scoreboards at the High School. The gift was given in memory of their son Jared Bly. A motion to accept the gift was approved with a Ripley/Cahill motion.

A revised Crisis Procedures Manual was approved on a Cahill/Fellows motion.

On an Eckhardt/Maher motion, Kevin Grant was approved to be the Districts LEA Rep.

The winter coaching list was approved on a Maher/Ripley motion.

Personnel: Cory White was hired as a cook’s helper A-1-1 on a Haugh/Cahill motion.

District Policy: Policies 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 403, 405, 407, 408, 409, 414, 415, 416, 420, 421, 422, 423, 424 and 425. were approved on a Fellows/Cahill motion.

Policies 503, 504, 505, 507, 508, 509, 510, 511, 512, 516, 517, 518, 519, 520, 523, 525, 527, 528, 529, 530,532, 602, 604, 605, 607, 608, 609, 610 and 611 were given for the first reading.

On a Cahill/Maher motion, the board was dismissed at 7:50pm

13. Approved one year maintenance agreement with Houston Engineering Inc. for DrainageDb software for September 2014 to August 2015 for $4,000 and authorized the Auditor/Treasurer to sign the agreement.

14. Approved allowing Cargill Inc. to enter forfeited tax parcel in Elmore to make changes pursuant to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture’s cleanup orders.
