It is Ordered and Notice is given that on February 17, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., a hearing will be held in this Court at the Faribault County Courthouse, 415 North Main, Blue Earth, Minnesota, on a petition for the formal probate of an instrument purporting to be the decedent’s Will dated June 1, 2012, and for the appointment of Cynthia L. Jones, whose address is 543 Garfield Avenue, Apt. 328, North Mankato, Minnesota as personal representative of the decedent’s estate in a supervised administration.

Any objections to the petition must be raised at the hearing or filed with the Court prior to the hearing. If the petition is proper and no objections are filed or raised, the personal representative will be appointed with full power to administer the decedent’s estate, including the power to collect all assets; pay all legal debts, claims, taxes and expenses; sell real and personal property; and do all necessary acts for the decedent’s estate.

Notice is further given that, subject to Minn. Stat. 524.3-801, all creditors having claims against the decedent’s estate are required to present the claims to the personal representative or to the Court within four (4) months after the date of this notice or the claims will be barred.

BLUE EARTH AREA SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

I.S.D. #2860

December 8, 2014

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D #2860 was held on Monday December 8.

Present were School Board members: J. Haugh, M. Eckhardt, F. Bly, Terry Cahill, S. Ripley, and Mark Maher. Member Fellows was absent.

Also attending were Supt. Gough, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairperson Bly. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

On a Cahill/Ripley motion the board approved the agenda. Unanimous approval.

Alan Wilhelmi was present and conducted the “Truth in Taxation Hearing” for the District.

Public input: None

On an Eckhardt/Ripley motion, the board unanimously approved the minutes from the November meeting.

The board unanimously approved eight money transfers in the amount of 1,173,302.84. Maher/Eckhardt motion.

District Reports: None

Chairperson’s report: Chairman Bly acknowledged Mary Eckhardt, Terry Cahill and Jesse Haugh as outgoing Board Members and thanked them for their dedicated service to Blue Earth Area Schools.

Superintendents Report:

Mr. Evan Gough gave a report on the open houses that were held in all three buildings for people to come and see the new technology in use. More of these open houses will be held in the future for the public to see what happens behind the doors of our classrooms. The BUCS Night Out Committee once again raised around $30,000 to be used to enhance the educational opportunities for the students of Blue Earth Area.

Committee Reports: Mary Eckhardt gave a summary of the work done with the Delegate Assembly.

Principal Reports: Mrs. McGuire gave a report of the Districts Literacy Leadership Team and how they will proceed with their mission of improving reading fluency and achievement of our students.

Action Items: On a Maher/Cahill motion, a Resolution approving the property tax levy payable in 2015 was passed. Voting in favor were: Cahill, Haugh, Bly, Ripley, Maher and Eckhardt.

The Seniority lists for the Certified and Non-Certified groups were approved on a Haugh/Eckhardt motion.

On an Eckhardt/Maher motion the board unanimously approved a bid from Javens Mechanical to replace the chiller at the High School.

Personnel

On a Cahill/Ripley motion the following personnel changes were approved:

Approved the retirement of Mark Franta, approved the resignation of Amanda Wiltse and Laura Kokos and approved contracts for Sarah Schultze and Mark Franta.

District Policy: Policies 503, 504, 505, 507, 508, 509, 510, 511, 512, 516, 517, 518, 519, 520, 525, 527, 528, 529, 530, 534, 602, 604, 605, 607, 608, 609, 610 and 611 were approved on an Eckhardt/Ripley motion.

Policies 701, 701.1, 702, 703, 704, 705, 706, 708, 710, 711, 712, 714 and 720 were given for the first readings.

Policy 523 was removed.

On a Cahill/Maher motion, the board was dismissed at 7:15pm

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR LIVESTOCK

FEEDLOT PERMIT

Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 116, that Nathan Scheid has made application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency or the County of Faribault for a permit to construct or expand a feedlot.

The feedlot is located in the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 18, Barber Township (T. 103 N., R. 26 W.), Faribault County, Minnesota. The existing facility is a 102 feet x 193 feet total confinement barn housing 2,400 head of swine 55-300 pounds that will be converted to 4,800 head of swine under 55 lbs (240 animal units). The existing facility has a 102 feet x 193 feet x 8 feet poured reinforced concrete pit for manure storage.

The proposed new facility will be a 102 feet x 193 feet total confinement barn with an 8 foot deep poured reinforced concrete pit for manure storage housing 4,800 head of swine under 55 lbs (240 animal units).

The total capacity will be 480 animal units.

This publication shall constitute as notice to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the proposed feedlot as required by Minnesota State Law.

A public meeting will be held on February 17, 2015 at 9:45 am at the Faribault County Board of Commissioner’s meeting at the Faribault County Courthouse for citizen input in regard to the feedlot being permitted.
