SYNOPSIS

MAY 5, 2015

1. All members were present. The pledge of allegiance was recited.

2. Approved minutes of April 21, 2015 regular meeting.

3. Set the start time of the June 16, 2015 meeting to 3:30 p.m.

4. Approved agenda of May 5, 2015.

5. Accepted quote of $2,500 from I&S Group to analyze the Blue Earth Ag Center for possible office space needs.

6. Adopted Resolution 15-CB-14 creating a Cooperative Project Revolving Loan Fund. Amended resolution to change under “3. Eligibility” the population to 725. Commissioners Groskreutz, Loveall, Roper, Warmka, and Young voted yes on the resolution as amended.

7. Approved request from G. Berg-Moberg to attend a 1-day new prosecutor training in Chaska.

8. Approved Resolution 15-PZ01-15 granting a conditional use permit to Elmer and Alverna Ehlert for extraction and excavation of materials and minerals on Section 09-102-24 of Foster Township. Commissioners Groskreutz, Loveall, Roper, Warmka, and Young voted yes.

9. Accepted bid from Flint Hills Resources LP of St. Paul for bituminous materials at $442.37 per ton for an estimated 645 tons making a total bid of $285,328.65. Two other bids were received from H G Meigs, LLC of Portage WI for a total bid of $328,246.95 and from Jebro Incorporated of Sioux City IA for $364,425.00.

10. Approved Resolution 15-RB05-16 to act as legal sponsor for an application for funding to the State of Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for maintenance and grooming of snowmobile trails. Commissioners Groskreutz, Loveall, Roper, Warmka, and Young voted yes.

11. Approved payment bills totaling $ 153,343.00.

Discussion was held concerning the following:

1. D. Fellows met regarding Central Services business.

2. M. Stindtman met regarding planning and zoning business.

3. S. Johnson met regarding a public feedlot hearing. Larry Twedt of Frost also attended.

4. M. Daly met regarding Public Works business.

Complete minutes are on file in the Central Services Office.

The meeting was recessed to Drainage Authority meeting.

The Faribault County Board of Commissioners will be adopting an amended Comprehensive Land Use Plan on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Faribault County Courthouse, 415 North Main Street, Blue Earth, Minnesota, pursuant to and consistent with the authority of Minnesota Statute 394.23.

The purpose of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan is to describe and analyze the important elements of the county in current terms, to determine the issues surrounding each element, and to set goals and strategies for those elements that will help local policy makers as they guide the public through current issues into the future.

The proposed Faribault County Comprehensive Land Use Plan is available to be reviewed in its entirety in the Faribault County Auditor’s office, the Faribault County Planning and Zoning Office and online at faribaultcountyswcd.com

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The City of Wells is seeking bids for a new 2,000 gallon Tanker-Pumper Truck for the Wells Fire Department.

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Wells, Minnesota will open sealed bids in the Council Chamber at the Community Center, 189 2nd Street SE, at 5:00 pm on June 8, 2015. Sealed bids can be submitted to Wells City Administrator, 125 South Broadway, Wells, MN 56097 on or before 4:00 pm on June 8, 2015.
