BLUE EARTH AREA SCHOOL BOARD PROCEEDINGS

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday June 29, in Blue Earth, MN
Present were School Board members: F. Bly, D. Fellows, S. Ripley, M. Maher, S. Hauskins, and A. Patten. Also Attending were Supt. Gough, principals, members of the press, staff and public.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairperson Bly. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
On a Fellows/Maher motion the board unanimously approved the agenda.
Public Input:
Pastor Brent Walker addressed the board. He commended the staff, principals and Supt. Gough for their efforts in making the release time transition successful this past year.
On a Maher/Ripley motion the board unanimously approved the minutes from the May meeting.
The board unanimously approved eight money transfers in the amount of $1,324,515.88. Hauskins/Fellows motion.
Reports were given by Donna Drescher, Rob Norman, Superintendent Gough, Chairman Bly, Principal Schneider, S. Ripley and D. Fellows.
Action Items:
After a recommendation by Chairman Bly and Supt. Gough, a motion was made by Maher and seconded by Ripley to appoint Jesse Hough for the open school board position. The motion failed with a 3:3 tie.
Maher/Ripley made another motion to appoint Jesse Haugh for the open school board position and it was passed 4 to 2.
Community Education Staff Wages/Salaries for 2015-2016 were unanimously approved on a Patten/Ripley motion.
On a Hauskins/Patten motion a Public Recreational Facilities Use Agreement with the City of Blue Earth was unanimously approved.
A contract for service with CliftonLarsonAllen, Certified Public Accountants was approved. Ripley/Fellows motion.
On a Maher/Ripley motion the board unanimously approved Health and Safety Policy 807.
The Original Budget Proposal for FY16 was unanimously approved. Fellows/Hauskins motion.
A Resolution for Reallocation of General Education Revenue for FY16 was approved on a Hauskins/Patten motion. Voting in favor were: Maher, Fellows, Bly, Ripley, Patten and Hauskins.
A contract for FY16 and FY17 actuarial services with VanIwaarden Associates was unanimously approved on a Fellows/Maher motion.
Board meeting dates for 2015-2016 were approved on a Ripley/Patten motion.
The board unanimously approved MREA membership for 2015-2016 on a Maher/Fellows motion.
On a Maher/Ripley motion the board approved the following investment depositories for 2015-2016:

The board approved staff use of the Walmart and Hy-Vee charge cards – FY16 on a Patten/Hauskins motion.
On a Ripley/Hauskins motion the board approved an amount not to exceed $3000 for fall and spring employee recognition events.
The Health and Safety Budget Summary for FY15,FY16 and FY17 was approved on a Maher/Ripley motion.
On a Maher/Hauskins motion the board unanimously approved bids from BevComm for the High School security cameras and from Neiman Roofing for the Middle School reroofing.
The 2015 Literacy Plan was unanimously approved on a Patten/Hauskins motion.
On a Fellows/Maher motion the 2015-2018 Technology Plan was approved.
The 2015-2016 Coaches List was unanimously approved on a Maher/Ripley motion.
On a Patten/Ripley motion the following retirement and leaves were approved:

If proper and if no objections are filed or raised, the Co-Personal Representatives will be appointed with full power to administer the Estate including the power to collect all assets, to pay all legal debts, claims, taxes and expenses, to sell real and personal property, and to do all necessary acts for the Estate.
Notice is also given that (subject to Minn. 524.3-801) all creditors having claims against the Estate are required to present the claims to the Co-Personal Representatives or to the Court Administrator within four months after the date of this Notice or the claims will be barred.
