AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SUBSECTION 620.06 OF THE CITY CODE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF

SPECIAL VEHICLES AND ADOPTION OF A NEW

SUBSECTION 620.07 –

SPECIAL VEHICLES TO

REGULATE THE SAME.

The City Council of the City of Blue Earth does ordain as follows:

SECTION I.

Subsection 620.06 Special Vehicles is hereby repealed in its entirety.

SECTION II.

That any permits issued in 2016 under the provisions of Subsection 620.06 shall be valid through December 31, 2016.

SECTION III.

That a new Subsection 620.07 Special Vehicles is hereby created and adopted stating as follows:

Subsection 620.07 Special Vehicles. Use on Roadways.

Subd. 1. Authorization. Special Vehicles authorized for use upon City roadways by permit only pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 169.045 are hereby authorized for use within the Corporate City Limits of the City of Blue Earth, subject to the provisions set forth in this Subsection.

Subd. 2. Permit. All special vehicles operating upon City roadways must be permitted by the City and pay the annual permit fee as set forth in the resolution establishing fees passed by the City Council from time to time.

Subd. 3. Motorized Golf Carts. Properly permitted motorized golf carts may operate on all City owned roadways if said golf carts comply with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 169.045.

Subd. 4. All-terrain vehicles and mini-trucks may operate only on authorized City streets and roadways in a fashion that complies with Minnesota Statutes 169.045. Use of all-terrain vehicles and mini-trucks is prohibited on the following roadways and areas within the City Limits:

1. County Highway 16.

2. U.S. Highway 169.

3. County Highway 6.

4. Main Street from the intersection of Main and 14th Street north to Fairgrounds Road.

5. 7th Street from the intersection of 7th Street and Nicollet east to East Street.

6. 5th Street and 6th Street from the intersection of said streets with Moore Street east to Gorman Street.

7. Fairgrounds Road from the intersection of Main Street and Fairgrounds Road east to East Street.

8. County Highway 103 and Faribault Drive in the North Industrial Park.

9. Industrial Drive from the intersection of Industrial Drive and Welk Drive east to Commerce Drive.

10. Welk Drive from the intersection of Welk Drive and County Highway 16 north to Industrial Drive.

11. Commerce Drive from the intersection of Commerce Drive and County Highway 16 north to Industrial Drive.

12. All land owned by the City of Blue Earth except that portion of the Fairgrounds lying within the Race Track area.

SECTION IV.

This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after its passage and publication.

CITY OF ELMORE

AN ORDINANCE TO

REVOKE AND REPEAL

SUBSECTION 435.04 OF THE

ELMORE CITY CODE

The City Council of the City of Elmore does ordain as follows:

SECTION I.

That Subsection 435.04 of the Elmore City Code allowing domesticated miniature pigs or tea cup pigs to be kept as pets within the City is hereby revoked and repealed in its entirety and replaced with the following:

435.04. Domesticated miniature Pigs or Tea Cup Pigs. No new Domesticated Miniature Pigs or Tea Cup Pigs shall be allowed to be kept as pets within the City of Elmore on or after May 15, 2016. Domesticated Miniature Pigs or Tea Cup Pigs currently registered with the City on or before May 15, 2016 shall be allowed to remain as pets within City Limits until May 1, 2020 as long as said animals remain registered with the City and are properly vaccinated.

SECTION II.

This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after its passage and publication.

BLUE EARTH AREA SCHOOL BOARD PROCEEDINGS

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday, April 11th, in Blue Earth, MN.

Present were School Board members: F. Bly, D. Fellows, M. Maher, S. Ripley, S. Hauskins, A. Patten and J. Haugh. Also Attending were Supt. Gough, principals, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairperson Bly. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

On a Haugh/Maher motion, the board approved the agenda.

Public Input: None

On a Hauskins/Patten motion, the board unanimously approved the minutes from the March meeting.

The board unanimously approved seven money transfers in the amount of $1,251,919.65. Haugh/Fellows motion.

Action Items:

On a Maher/Patten motion the Board approved Policy 427 on Workload Limits For Certain Special Education Teachers.

Personnel:

On a Fellows/Ripley motion the Board approved the following contracts:

Sydney Ristau- Elem Spec Ed

The following hires were approved on a Fellows.Maher motion:

Chairman Bly read an email from Brenda Smith sharing that she was awarded a Fit for Life grant for her physical education classroom of $3,000.
