NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR LIVESTOCK

FEEDLOT PERMIT

Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 116, that Horizon Farms, has made application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency or the County of Faribault for a permit to construct or expand a feedlot with a capacity of 500 animal units or more.

The existing and/or proposed feedlot will be located in the SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4, Section 34, Barber Township, T103N, Range R26W, in Faribault County, Minnesota. The existing facility consists of 1,940 head of swine over 300 pounds, or 776 animal units (AU) housed in three total confinement barns over reinforced concrete pits. The proposed expansion consists of constructing an additional total confinement barn to house 996 head of swine over 300 pounds, or 398.4 animal units (AU). Manure will be stored in a proposed and existing below barn reinforced concrete pits. After construction and expansion, the total animal unit capacity will be 1174.4 AU.

This publication shall constitute as notice to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the proposed feedlot as required by Minnesota State Law.
