The Blue Earth Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau is seeking competitive bids for the construction of a wood framed structure of a Welcome Center and Museum. Construction of a new 4,325 s.f. wood frame structure to include: concrete footings, foundations and floor slabs, exterior wall framing, roof framing, interior partitions, floor coverings, ceilings, doors, storefront windows, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other required construction for the Blue Earth Museum in Blue Earth, MN as indicated on the Construction Documents.

Sealed Bids will be received until 2:00 pm CST on Tuesday, January 30th at the council chambers City Hall office, located at 125 West 6th Street in Blue Earth, MN. Late bids will not be opened or received. Bids must be placed in a sealed envelope and labeled, “Blue Earth Museum Bid.” No faxed or email bids will be accepted. All bids will be publicly read aloud at the close of the bid.

Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum no less than 5 percent of the Bid Amount. This Bid Bond must accompany the bids that are delivered in a sealed envelope at the time of bidding.

Bid Documents for a “Single Prime” – Stipulated Sum contract may be downloaded from Quest CDN at www.questcdn.com, ebid project number 5475497. They also may be obtained from the office of the Architect, Brunton Architects & Engineers, upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit, by cash, in the amount of $250 for one set of plans and specifications.

ORDINANCE NO. 18-01

CITY OF BLUE EARTH

AN ORDINANCE FOR THE CONVEYANCE OF

REAL PROPERTY

OWNED BY THE

CITY OF BLUE EARTH

The City Council of the City of Blue Earth do ordain as follows:

SECTION I

That the City of Blue Earth owns certain real property located in the City of Blue Earth and legally described as follows:

Lot 2 in Block 3, Plat of Blue Earth North Industrial Park.

SECTION II

Blue Earth-Nicollet-Faribault Cooperative Electric Association d/b/a BENCO Electric Cooperative is desirous of purchasing property in Section I above and the City of Blue Earth is desirous of selling such property for a sale price of $32,520.00.

SECTION III

Pursuant to the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 412.211, the City of Blue Earth is hereby authorized to sell and the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized to convey the property described in Section I of this ordinance to the purchaser upon payment of the purchase price.

SECTION IV

This Ordinance shall not be effective until thirty (30) days after its passage and publication.
