NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE FACILITIES

MAINTENANCE BONDS

TO FINANCE CERTAIN PROJECTS INCLUDED IN THE DISTRICT’S TEN-YEAR FACILITY PLAN

INDEPENDENT SCHOOL

DISTRICT NO. 2860

(BLUE EARTH AREA SCHOOLS)

STATE OF MINNESOTA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the School Board of Independent School District No. 2860, State of Minnesota (the “District”), adopted a resolution (the “Resolution”) on August 13, 2018, stating the intention of the School Board to issue general obligation facilities maintenance bonds (the “Bonds”) in the total principal amount of not to exceed $1,500,000 pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 123B.595 and Chapter 475, as amended. The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to fund the costs of the following projects as included in the Districts approved ten-year facility plan approved by the School Board and the Commissioner of Education, and related financing costs:

repair and replacement of parking lots; and

repair and replacement of boiler/mechanical systems.

The total amount of District indebtedness as of August 2, 2018 is $5,340,000. If these proposed Bonds were issued after that date, the total indebtedness of the District at that time would be $6,840,000.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Blue Earth Planning Commission has scheduled a hearing at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 in the Council Chambers of City Hall to consider the following request of Chris and Amy Gack, 125 N Grove Street North, Blue Earth, MN.

1) The applicant request is to amend the use of a commercial building into a partial residential/commercial complex in the SBI district:

The property is legally described as: Original Plat of Blue Earth Block Eighty two (82), Lots One (1) and Two (2) Excepting the West 5 ft of the North 50′ of Lot 2

The Planning Commission recommendation will proceed to consideration at the Regular City Council meeting held on September 4, 2018 at 4:30 P.M. All interested persons are welcome to attend.
