The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday, August 13, 2018, in Blue Earth, MN.

Present were School Board members: J. Coxworth, S. Hauskins, F. Bly, J. Haugh, S. Ripley, A. Patten and S. Benz. Also attending were Supt. Gough, principals, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chairman Haugh. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

On a Patten/Benz motion the Board unanimously approved the agenda.

Public Input: none

On a Bly/Hauskins motion the Board unanimously approved the minutes from the July Board meeting.

The minutes from the July work session were unanimously approved on a Benz/Bly motion.

The Board unanimously approved seven money transfers in the amount of $835,001.98. Bly/Ripley motion, with Coxworth abstaining.

Action Items:

The Board unanimously approved the 2018-2019 Coaches List on a Bly/Patten motion.

On a Ripley Coxworth motion the Board unanimously approved the purchase of a 10 passenger van.

The Board approved a Resolution Stating the Intention of the School Board to Issue General Obligation Bonds to Finance Projects Included in the District’s Approved Ten Year Facility Plan; Covenanting and Obligating the District to be Bound by and to Use the Provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Section 126C.55 to Guarantee the Payment of the Principal and Interest on the Bonds on a Benz/Ripley motion. Voting in favor were Coxworth, Hauskins, Bly, Haugh, Ripley, Patten and Benz.

On a Hauskins/Patten motion the Board approved membership in the South Central Service Coop for $1955. 7-0 Vote.

Student Handbooks for the Elementary, Middle School and High School were unanimously approved on a Bly/Hauskins motion.

The Board unanimously approved the 2018-2020 Bus Driver’s Contract on a Hauskins/ Patten motion.

The Principal’s Contract was unanimously approved on a Benz/Ripley motion.

Personnel:

The following personnel changes were unanimously approved on a Patten/Bly motion:

Retirement: James Anderson, Head Custodian

Resignation: Jeremy Frank, HS Custodian

Transfer: Wayne Hermanson, Custodian to Head Custodian B-2-3

District Policy:

Policies 214, 410, 413, 414, 415, 506, 522, 524, 533, 616, and 807 were unanimously approved on a Benz/Patten motion.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:08pm on a Hauskins/Coxworth motion. 7-0 vote.

Halverson, whose address is 319 W. 5th St., Blue Earth, MN 56013 as Personal Representative of the Estate of the Decedent in an UNSUPERVISED administration. Any objections to the petition must be filed with the Court prior to or raised at the hearing. If proper, and no objections are filed or raised, the Personal Representative will be appointed with full power to administer the Estate, including the power to collect all assets, to pay all legal debts, claims, taxes and expenses, to sell real and personal property, and to do all necessary acts for the Estate.

Notice is also given that (subject to Minnesota Statues section 524.3-801) all creditors having claims against the Estate are required to present the claims to the Personal Representative or to the Court Administrator within four months after the date of this Notice or the claims will be barred.
