Main St., Blue Earth, Minnesota, for the formal probate of an instrument purporting to be the Will of the Decedent dated, March 4, 1997, (“Will”), and for the appointment of Marlys Darnell, whose address is 4625 385th Ave., Elmore, MN, 56027 and Michael Krosch, whose address is 111 N. Mill St., Elmore, MN, 56027 as Personal Representatives of the Estate of the Decedent in an UNSUPERVISED administration. Any objections to the petition must be filed with the Court prior to this time. If proper and if no objections are filed before the above date, the Personal Representatives will be appointed with full power to administer the Estate including the power to collect all assets, to pay all legal debts, claims, taxes and expenses, to sell real and personal property, and to do all necessary acts for the Estate.

School Board MINUTES

March 9, 2020

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday, March 9, 2020, in Blue Earth, MN

Present were School Board members: F. Bly, J Eckles, S. Hauskins, S. Rosenau, K. Zierke, S. Benz, and S. Beyer. Also attending were Supt. Fletcher, principals, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairperson S Benz. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The board approved the agenda on a Beyer/Bly motion, 7-0 vote.

Public Input: Nicolle Allard, elementary special education teacher addressed the Board about reductions.

Recess was called at 6:08 p.m. and the meeting reconvened at 6:12 p.m.

On a Bly/Zierke motion, the February minutes were approved. 7-0 vote.

The Board approved payments of bills and wire transfers of $1,198,270.02 on a Beyer/Hauskins motion. 7-0 vote.

District Reports:

Peter Koenig reported on Music in Our Schools month.

Chairperson’s Report:

Chairperson Benz shared Board goals:

1. Board Development, 2. Communication and Unification of all five communities, 3. Minimize spending by FY 21-22, 4. Referendum.

Superintendent Report:

1. Legislative Update, 2. March work session special meeting discussion, 3. 2020-2021 Calendar.

Committee Reports

S. Rosenau updated on the DLT meeting. Title is restructuring in the elementary to have expenses covered by Title revenue. Communications: Joe Beckham event; Coronavirus email from Nurse Crofton and Mandy. Kindergarten roundup packet; Alumni in the News; Grant: 2 approved. M Wickersham $143.94. B Carlson FACS to the Max $60. QComp in Cycle 3.Tech: MCA testing and Chromebook Check.

Principal Reports:

Principal Dressler and Assistant Principal Shaffer reported on K-7 recent activities, MCAs have started and are going well, MN Vikings donating flag football equipment, MN Dental Sealants option, Read Across America, Science Fair and Kindergarten Roundup. Principal Ewing .

At 7:30 p.m. the regular meeting was adjourned on a Beyer/Eckles motion. 7-0 vote.

At 7:37 p.m. the closed session was called to order by Chairperson S. Benz.

At 8:47 p.m. the closed session was adjourned on a Bly/Zierke motion. 7-0 vote.

At 8:48 p.m. the regular meeting was reconvened by Chairperson S. Benz.

Action Items:

Personnel:

On a Rosenau/Beyer motion, the retirement of Nancy Steinke, Media Professional for 32 years, was approved on a 7-0 vote.

On a Zierke/Eckles motion, the meeting was adjourned at 8:53p.m. 7-0 vote.

March 19, 2020

A Special board work session of the Board of Education of Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Thursday March 19th, 2020 in the K-7 Building Media Center Blue Earth, MN.

Present members were S. Benz, S. Beyer, J. Eckles, S. Hauskins, S. Rosenau and K. Zierke. Member F. Bly was available via video/audio conference. Also present were Supt. Fletcher, and staff members.

The meeting was called to order at 6:09 p.m. by Chair Susan Benz.

April 2, 2020

A Special Meeting of the Board of Education of Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Thursday April 2nd, 2020 6:00 p.m. Conducted by telephone OR other Electronic means PURSUANT TO MINN. STAT. 13D.021.

As a result of the peacetime emergency declared by the Governor of the State of Minnesota in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Superintendent of the School District has determined that it is neither feasible nor prudent to hold an in-person School Board meeting during the emergency. Consequently, except for the Board Chair and the Superintendent, the Special Meeting will be conducted by alternative means (teleconference or video-teleconference) from remote locations. Members of the public interested in monitoring the Special Meeting from a remote location made use of the following link: beas-blueearth-k12.zoom.us/j/ 744324351.

The Board Chair and the Superintendent were present for the Special Meeting at the School Board’s regular meeting location: Room E117, District Conference Room, 315 East 6th Street, Blue Earth, MN 56013.

Meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m.

Hauskins introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by F. Bly and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: S. Hauskins, S. Beyer, K. Zierke, F. Bly, J. Eckles, S. Rosenau, S. Benz and the following voted against the same: None.

B. Resolutions Discontinuing and Reducing Educational Programs and Positions Member S. Beyer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by J. Eckles and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: S. Hauskins, S. Beyer, K. Zierke, F. CITY OF FROST

The City of Frost will hold a public hearing on a request for a variance from the 25 foot setback on the front property line to 14 feet for the purpose of building a garage as submitted by Ramiro Herrera of 245 1st St. The parcel property ID involved is 26.200.1670.
