Main St., Blue Earth, Minnesota, for the adjudication of intestacy and determination of heirship of the Decedent, and for the appointment of William R. Clark, whose address is 648 2nd Ave. SW, Wells, MN, 56097; Christopher D. Clark, whose address is 648 2nd Ave. SW, Wells, MN, 56097 as Personal Representatives of the Estate of the Decedent in an UNSUPERVISED administration. Any objections to the petition must be filed with the Court prior to or raised at the hearing. If proper and if no objections are filed or raised, the Personal Representatives will be appointed with full power to administer the
Estate, including the power to collect all assets, to pay all legal debts, claims, taxes and expenses, to sell real and personal property, and to do all necessary acts for the Estate. The hearing will be held by Zoom. Contact the court for instructions on how to appear.
Notice is also given that (subject to Minnesota Statutes section 524.3-801) all creditors having claims against the Estate are required to present the claims to the Personal Representatives or to the Court Administrator within four months after the date of this Notice or the claims will be barred.

A Work Session of the Board of Education of Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. # 2860 was held on August 2nd, 2021 at the High School Media Center, Blue Earth, MN.
Members present: S. Rosenau, S. Hauskins, S. Beyer, K. Zierke, J. Eckles, T. Armon, L. Mensing were present with Superintendent M. Fletcher.
Work Session was called to order at 5:31 pm by Chairperson Rosenau.

AUGUST 2, 2021
A Regular Board Meeting of the Board of Education of Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday August 2nd, 2021 at 7:15 pm following a Work Session. Board Members were present in person with Superintendent M. Fletcher for the regular board meeting at the meeting location: Blue Earth Area High School Media Center 1125 Highway 169 N. Blue Earth, MN 56013.
Members present: S. Rosenau, S. Beyer, S. Hauskins, K. Zierke, J. Eckles, T. Armon, L. Mensing.
Call to Order: Chairperson Rosenau called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm.

Routine Items
I. Call to Order.
II. Pledge of Allegiance.
III. Approve Agenda: Changes – Action Item XII regarding Board Goals being postponed; Adding Action Item XIV: Approve MOU regarding Retirement. On a Zierke/Mensing motion. Approved 7-0.
IV. Public Input: None.
V. Approve Minutes: On a Beyer/Eckles motion. Approved 7-0.
VI. District Reports:
A. BEA BB Association – Katie Alford and Brenda Smith spoke about an upcoming Spring 2022 project for the elementary playground to install basketball hoops and a new court covered by donations. A brief discussion was held about the plans and timeline.
VII.Chairperson’s Report: Thanks to the staff for covering the fair booth. Positive feedback was received from the community. Also, a review was held of the Superintendent’s Evaluation from 2020-2021.
VIII. Superintendent’s Report:
A. Back to School Workshops – New Teacher Workshops – All staff welcome back meeting is August 31st. Bucs Bash being held September 1st.
B. Legislation/Standards – Distance learning will not be offered this year as we are not considered an online provider. Streaming will be available due to health reasons or a quarantine situation. All implementation of academic standards have been delayed one year. A discussion was held about Critical Race Theory.
C. Fall Guidance – At this time, masks are not required, but encouraged along with social distancing, staying home if you aren’t feeling well, and practicing good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette. Ventilation will be increased throughout the school buildings.
D. Update on Summer Projects/Facilities – A detailed update was given on the district wide Facilities Department summer projects.
IX. Committee Reports:
A. Finance Committee Update – S Hauskins gave an update on the allocation/approval of Esser II funds. The committee will meet again the 2nd Monday in September.
X. Principal’s Report, Schaffer:
A. MDE released that state wide assessments results will be available mid-August to school staff.
B. Credit Recovery update was given for the HS and summer school program for the MS.
C. Athletic meeting to be held for all parents/students from August 12th 7-8 pm.
D. Back to School Bucs Bash on Sept 1st. Various activities will be held in addition to Eighth grade orientation.
Schmidt – Director of Curriculum and Instruction Report:
A. Update was provided and the focus for the 21-22 school year will be Student Achievement and building relationships with staff.
B. Goals for the Summer Boot Camp with staff on August 18th and 19th.

XI. Approve Annual Bids: Softener Salt, Waste Removal, Snow Removal, #1 & #2 Fuel Oil: On an Armon/Zierke motion. Approved 7-0
XII. Approve 2021-2022 Board Goals: (Item tabled until Strategic Plan is finalized).

XIV. Approve MOU with BEAEA regarding Kim Slette Retirement. On an Eckles/Mensing motion. Approved 7-0
XV. Personnel: On a Zierke/ Beyer motion. Approved 7-0. Approve Retirement: Kim Slette. Approve Resignation: Maleah Pedersen.
