Board Members were present in person with Superintendent M. Fletcher for the regular board meeting at the meeting location: Blue Earth Area High School Media Center 1125 Highway 169 N Blue Earth, MN 56013. 

Members present: S. Hauskins, J. Eckles, L. Mensing, S. Rosenau, K. Zierke, and S. Beyer. Absent members: T. Armon & Student Representative C. Davis. T. Armon arrived at 6:01 pm.

C. School Nutrition Program Update – Update given on breakfast and lunch meal charges at school and the Free & Reduced application process. Also, a brief discussion was held regarding the pilot program in Minnesota qualifying Medicaid families for Free & Reduced meals.

D. Tennis Court Update – An update was given on the Tennis Court project through the City of Blue Earth.   

X. Committee Reports: Negotiations Committee – Zierke gave an update regarding the Non Certified contract meeting on July 14th.

XI. Principal’s Report: Dressler – Update give on both interior and exterior facility projects. Summer school wrap up. Back to school mailing going out this week.

Shaffer – Buc Bash night is in the planning. Eight grade orientation being held on August 16th. Attended the JMC Summer Conference in Chaska with other office staff. A brief discussion was held about a new pilot program called “Direct Admissions” that BEAS is participating in.

Curriculum/Instruction Director Report:  Schmidt – All 6-12 math curriculum has been received. Last expected items are K-5 manipulatives and should arrive by mid-August. PLC discussions being held about the calendar and discussing revisions. MCA test results will be shared at the September meeting.
