It is Ordered and Notice is given that on March 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. via Zoom, a hearing will be held in this Court at 415 N. Main St., Blue Earth, Minnesota, for the formal probate of an instrument purporting to be the Will of the Decedent dated, June 6, 2011, (“Will”), and for the appointment of Nona Luecht, whose address is 116 5th Ave SE, Waseca, MN, 56093 as Personal Representative of the Estate of the Decedent in an UNSUPERVISED administration. Any objections to the petition must be filed with the Court prior to or raised at the hearing. If proper and if no objections are filed or raised, the Personal Representative will be appointed with full power to administer the Estate including the power to collect all assets, to pay all legal debts, claims, taxes and expenses, to sell real and personal property, and to do all necessary acts for the Estate.

Stat. § 524.3-607, and the court otherwise orders, the co-personal representatives have full power to administer the Estate, including, after 30 days from the date of issuance of letters, the power to sell, encumber, lease or distribute real estate.
Any objections to the probate of the Will, or to the appointment of the co-personal representatives, must be filed with this court, and will be heard by the court after the filing of an appropriate petition and proper notice of hearing.

The Facility Plan addresses capital improvements being considered, such as collection system rehabilitation, structures, services, and utilities, which are necessary to maintain essential infrastructure.
All interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing and provide comments. You may submit written comments, which must be received no later than March 14th, 2023.

IX. District Reports:
A. Therapy Dog Update – Sara Albright provided an update on Frankie’s travels through the first part of the year and how she was introduced to classes and ongoing plans for her as the BEAS Therapy Dog and how she is representing the SEL program and assisting students with their reading and writing skills.
B. Community Engagement Coordinator Update – Brenda Millmann provided an extensive update on the numerous activities she has been involved in as well as listing the number of monthly contacts in the community including businesses, parents and students. Brenda also shared her anticipated activities for the rest of the year.
X. Chairperson’s Report:
Welcome to new member Mark Franta. The Strategic Roadmap update is in the planning as well as a Board Professional Development work session after the MSBA Conference in mid-January. Date is to be determined. A mid-year review was done of Superintendent Fletcher’s goals and the outcome was shared.
XI. Superintendent’s Report:
A. MSBA Leadership Conference – January 11-13 – The theme this year is “Reimagining Leadership”. Session opening remarks will be by Governor Tim Walz.
B. Legislative Platforms – A detailed updated on what’s going on in education at the Capitol especially focusing on 3 key platforms that focus on investing in education.
C. Retention Stipend – Superintendent Fletcher explained the process for securing a one-time retention stipend for all district employees.
XII. Committee Reports: None.
XIII. Principals Reports:
Dressler – 7th grade Youth Frontier Retreat Friday, January 13th, 5th Grade Kindness Retreat will be in March, Targeted Services anticipated to start in the 3rd quarter grades 3-7.
Shaffer – Annual Respect Retreat for 9th grade being held Wednesday January 11th. Acknowledged BPA team for their success at regional competitions. Announced a “Traveling Trophy” for staff after being nominated by students. Principal Shaffer is going to attend the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) Conference the end of January.
XIV. Curriculum/Instruction Director Update: Schmidt provided an update on the new Journeys Reading curriculum and the Math Expressions curriculum as well as a plan to do a roundtable with the K-5 math teachers to share ideas.

4. Approved Resolution 23-CB-09 approving the amended communications facility lease with MnDOT. All voted yes.
5. Accepted low bid from Mavo Systems, Inc. in the amount of $15,100 for asbestos abatement in the garage space of the old jail building.
6. Approved the order of equipment in the 2023 budget as listed.
7. Set parks board meeting for March 8th, 2023 at 3:00pm in the Public Works Department.
8. Set 2023 beaver bounty for waters that are not a public drainage system at $50 per tail.
